Nikita Porwal of Ujjain was crowned Miss India 2024 at the 60th edition of the beauty pageant. She takes over the crown from outgoing title holder Nandini Gupta of Rajasthan, who has held the title since 2023.

Miss India beauty pageant held in India
The winner of the first Miss India beauty pageant in 1947 was Pramila (Esther Victoria Abraham) from Calcutta.
Later in 1952, two editions of the Miss India beauty pageant were held and Indrani Rehman and Nutan were declared the winners of the pageant. Indrani Rehman later also represented India in the Miss Universe 1952 pageant, which was the first Miss Universe pageant.
When was the first Miss India Women held?
The first Miss India beauty pageant was held in 1964 and Meher Castelino Mistri became the inaugural title holder. She represented India in the Miss Universe 1964 beauty pageant in the United States and also participated in the Miss Country 1964 in Spain.
