The tennis competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics will adopt an elimination system, with 64 players each in men’s and women’s singles.
This is the first time that a tennis tournament has been held on clay courts since the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. It is also the first time that a tennis tournament has been held at a Grand Slam venue since the 2012 London Olympics, with the venue in Paris being Roland Garros.

Paris Olympics 2024: Indian tennis matches and schedule
Sumit Nagal’s opponent was Frenchman Corentin Moutet and although Nagal fought hard, he lost in a tight contest.
Moute won in three sets, with the final score being 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. Nagal showed great determination and skill throughout the match, but despite his best efforts, he was unable to win. The match lasted 2 hours and 28 minutes on the seventh court of Roland Garros.

Later, in the men’s doubles event, the Indian duo of Rohan Bopanna and N. Sriram Balaji faced the French duo of Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Gael Monfils. Unfortunately, the French duo lost to the Indian duo in the second round with a score of 5-7, 2-6.
It was a tough time for the Indian players but they showed great sportsmanship and determination throughout the match. Also, this was expected to be the last tennis match for Bopanna, who has announced his retirement from Davis Cup. Although India failed to win a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the players worked hard and showed their skills on the court.
