Portugal. The Man is a rock band from Alaska, now based in Oregon. The band consists of six members: John Baldwin Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, Jason Sechrist, Eric Howk and Zoe Manville. Gourley and Carothers met in high school in 2001 and began making music together.
They released their first two albums with Fearless Records before launching their own label, Approaching AIRballoons, in partnership with Equal Vision Records. They later signed with Atlantic Records in 2010 and have since released four more albums.
