Rainbow Six Siege gameplay

“Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege” is a first-person shooter game in which players play as different operators of Rainbow Squad, each with their own unique nationality, weapons and gadgets. What makes the game different is that teams don’t always have the same capabilities, you can choose from counter-terrorism units such as the American Hostage Rescue Team, the British SAS, the German GSG-9, the Russian Spetsnaz and the French GIGN.

Before a round starts, you choose your operator, spawn point, and weapon setup, but once the round starts, you’re locked in. You can earn an in-game currency called “Reputation” to unlock more operators and cool cosmetic items, or you can use real money to purchase “R6 Points” to speed things up. During the game, both attackers and defenders prepare for battle, with attackers using drones for reconnaissance and defenders trying to hide their plans. The map is designed for close-quarter action, and once you’re out you won’t be able to participate in the entire match, but you can still use your camera to help. Competitions are timed and encourage teamwork and communication.

The highlight of Rainbow Six Siege is its environmental destruction—you can blow things up, shoot through walls, and change the battlefield. Tactics focus on breaching and fortifying structures, with a variety of traps adding to the complexity. The gameplay is vertical and destructive, and limited-use items like grenades make the game fun. Cooperation and creative thinking are the keys to success in this game, and it’s a lot of fun if you like intense strategic shooting experiences.

game review

Rainbow Six Siege received generally positive responses from game critics. They really enjoyed the intense multiplayer action and emphasis on tactical gameplay. However, there are some criticisms. People weren’t happy with the way the progression system worked, and some felt the game didn’t have enough content when it first launched.

At first, the game didn’t sell well, but that changed when Ubisoft decided to treat it as a “games-as-a-service” title. They started adding tons of free downloadable content, which got players excited and grew their player base. Over time, thanks to these updates, many critics began to consider Siege one of the top multiplayer games. Ubisoft even teamed up with ESL to make Siege an esports blockbuster. As of December 2020, the game has more than 70 million registered players across all platforms. To add some extra fun, in January 2022 they released Rainbow Six Extraction, a spin-off game starring characters from Siege.
