Rust Update 1.90 Patch Notes

Patch 1.90 introduces Underground Assault. Fight with other teams for control of the new Military Tunnel Monument. Use new night vision goggles to explore the radiated corridors in complete darkness, and fight your way through using 3 new weapons (P17 Prototype Pistol, Handmade Light Machine Gun, and M4 Shotgun) and 2 new throwables (Molotov cocktail and flashbang). This patch also includes general gameplay fixes, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes.

  • The new monument – the military tunnel. Low visibility conditions, sporadic areas of strong radiation, dark winding halls and wide corridors patrolled by militant scientists.

  • New weapons – Prototype 17 pistol, handcrafted light machine gun, and M4 shotgun.

  • New projectiles – Molotov cocktails and flashbangs.

  • New weapon attachments – extended magazine and burst module.

  • Added the ability to toggle individual footstep sounds in Audio Options.

  • Made several improvements to the Teams UI.

  • Ability to apply skins directly to items using spray cans. (Note: spray cans will only change skins)

  • Added crosshairs and crosshairs.

  • Added hit impact and direction damage markers.

  • Updated Injury State – Players can now enter a crawling state when injured.

  • Night Vision Goggles – Allows you to see in darker areas, but the downside is that you can’t wear a helmet and other players can see the lenses.

  • Full character models are now fully visible when in first-person view, looking left, right, or down.

  • Team member names are now always displayed on the screen.

  • The 3.5K map has been added to the official server rotation and is available for community servers.

Gameplay

  • Players can now be properly towed by freighters.

  • Corrected collision interactions.

  • It is now easier to get out of the water and land on objects.

  • Weapon attachments now update dynamically.

  • Laser sights now align with weapon aiming.

  • Aiming no longer re-centers no matter which direction the weapon is pointed.

  • Displayed projectile resistance and melee resistance now matches the Steam version.

  • Player names can no longer be seen through smoke grenades.

  • The status bar preview now updates as the player’s health/thirst/hunger levels change.

  • Players can now place water pumps in rivers in snow biomes.

  • Players can no longer see through the bottom of the Siren’s Light.

  • A damaged garage door no longer needs to be repaired with a hammer and gear.

  • Auto turret lasers are now visible.

  • The harpoon gun’s spear now displays correctly when fired at a shark.

  • Blood marks no longer appear on weapons when shot by other players.

  • Adjusted the size of the overhead team UI icons.

  • The inventory will now turn grey when there are no longer enough resources to craft an item.

  • Players can now equip attachments through the “Adjust Attachments” UI.

  • The player can navigate the resource storage while splitting items in the tool cabinet using the right analog stick.

  • Inventory indicator counts and inventory item quantities now update when certain actions are performed.

  • Players are now indicated by a HUD indicator when they are taking radiation damage.

  • Resource quantities are now updated instantly when crafted.

  • Workbench [HOLD] Learn more about options and pickup [HOLD] No more duplicate button prompts.

  • The stance indicator now displays a swimming icon.

Visual

  • Various visual fixes.

  • Improved various textures and LODs.

  • Vending machine displays now display correctly.

  • The player model no longer becomes invisible when a freighter disappears.

  • RHIB wheels no longer flicker when moving.

Other changes

  • Fixed a crash that could occur if the player attempted to rotate a deployable item before the item preview appeared.

  • Players will no longer get stuck in the pre-made warmup phase and time out when trying to connect to a server.

  • Fixed a server kick that could occur when firing the Harpoon Gun.
