Scotland will face Bangladesh, West Indies, South Africa and England in Group B, with the top two teams set to advance to the semi-finals. The tournament will kick off on October 3, with Scotland taking on Bangladesh in Sharjah.
Craig Wallace, head coach of the Scotland women’s football team, said: “This is a special day for everyone associated with this team. To be one of the first Scottish players selected for the Women’s World Cup is a great achievement and the players and their families should be very proud.”
“The squad and balance of this team is outstanding. From start to finish, we have players who can win games and I think that has been a huge difference in how this team has developed in my short tenure. Every time they step on the pitch, the players perform well and that shows throughout the team.” He added.
