Children of the Forest is a survival video game developed by Endnight Games and published by Newnight. It is the sequel to the 2014 game The Forest. Children of the Forest was initially released in Early Access on February 23, 2023 for Microsoft Windows via Steam, with the full version released on February 22, 2024.

In Children of the Forest, players are tasked with finding a missing billionaire on a remote island, only to find themselves trapped in a nightmare world infested with cannibals. This is a terrifying open-world survival horror simulator where players must craft, build, and fight for survival alone or with friends.

Katana

The Katana is a powerful melee weapon known for its speed and cutting ability. Although it has poor blocking capabilities, it excels at severing limbs and dealing significant damage. Its effectiveness can be further enhanced by increasing the player’s Strength attribute.

Shotgun

The Shotgun is considered one of the best weapons in Sons of the Forest. It is incredibly powerful at both close and medium ranges, making it perfect for intense combat. However, players should conserve their ammo, as it is limited. Additionally, giving the Shotgun to Virginia grants unlimited ammo.

Masterwork Bow

To make a crafted bow, players need tape, string, and a stick. It is a basic ranged weapon in hunting and combat scenarios.

A well-built club

The handmade club is made of rope, skull, and sticks. While not as powerful as other weapons, it is still effective in close combat.

Similar to the Crafted Bow, the Crafted Spear is made from duct tape, a stick, and a utility knife. It provides the player with a basic melee option.
