Order 66 was a pivotal moment in Star Wars history, with Palpatine ordering the clone troopers to execute the Jedi, but there were a handful of survivors. Palpatine orchestrated the Clone Wars as the perfect Jedi trap, with a galaxy’s worth of pain and suffering cutting the Jedi off from the light side of the Force. The Clone Wars ended with Order 66, as Darth Sidious issued the command to kill all of the Jedi, showcased in the third Star Wars movie in chronological order: Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ timeline revealed the clones had no choice but to obey Palpatine. All the clones were implanted with an inhibitor chip, one that constrained their own judgment and forced them to obey Palpatine’s will. And so, when the command was given, Order 66 was executed with ruthless efficiency. Meanwhile, Darth Vader led his clones in an attack on the Jedi Temple itself. But, as effective as the Emperor’s plan may have been, it was never going to be entirely successful; a few Jedi survived, some of whom will even appear in upcoming Star Wars TV shows.

As seen in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Yoda was on Kashyyyk helping the native Wookiees fight off the Separatists when Order 66 was issued. Yoda sensed the disturbance in the Force, and killed the clone troopers who were about to gun him down; he then escaped Kashyyyk with the help of Chewbacca and Tarful. Yoda joined up with Obi-Wan Kenobi, returning to Coruscant to learn the truth of Anakin Skywalker’s betrayal and Palpatine’s Sith identity. The aged Jedi Master went into hiding, although there’s some evidence the Empire thought Yoda dead before the original trilogy era.

Obi-Wan had been sent to Utapau to take down General Grievous, bringing the Clone Wars to an end. Clone commander Cody received the order to strike down the Jedi general; Obi-Wan, who was traversing up a cliff on a reptilian mount, was blasted into a river and managed to escape the turbulent waters. He successfully stole off-world, heading to Coruscant and Mustafar, where he dueled Anakin Skywalker. Triumphant, Obi-Wan delivered Anakin’s infant son Luke to his aunt and uncle on Tatooine and exiled himself to the desert world.

Ahsoka Tano was introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Anakin’s Padawan, but she left the Jedi Order during season 5. Unfortunately, Ahsoka was drawn back into Jedi affairs in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 when she returned to participate in the Siege of Mandalore. Ahsoka was on her way to deliver a captured Maul to the Jedi Council on Coruscant when Anakin fell to the dark side, and she sensed something was wrong through her bond with him.
Ahsoka and Rex faked their own deaths, although Darth Vader knew she had survived through a Force vision.
Ahsoka set Maul free as a distraction and learned about the inhibitor chip, managing to remove Rex’s chip. The two fought their way through former friends until their ship crashed on an unidentified moon. The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4 featured a flashback to Order 66 that revealed a Jedi Master named Kelleran Beq survived Order 66 as well. The character was played by Ahmed Best (better known as the actor for Jar Jar Binks) and was introduced as the mentor in the children’s game show Star Wars: Jedi Challenge. Described as the Dean of the Jedi Order, Kelleran Beq focused on training the next generation. He escaped the Jedi Temple with the mysterious Grogu, and the two fled Coruscant. Kelleran Beq’s fate is unknown, but Grogu was secreted away for decades.

The Grand Inquisitor was the main antagonist of the first season of Star Wars Rebels, but after his death, it was revealed he used to be a Jedi Temple guard. He was present for Ahsoka’s trial when she was accused of bombing the Jedi Temple and betraying the Order. It was ultimately revealed that Ahsoka was innocent, but the false accusation and the Order’s treatment of Ahsoka left the Grand Inquisitor disillusioned with the Order, and he defected before Order 66, falling to the dark side. Later, he was approached by Palpatine about heading the Inquisitorius, the Empire’s Jedi hunters.

The Padawan of Depa Billaba, Caleb Dume survived Order 66 thanks to Clone Force 99. As seen in Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 1, these mutant clones could resist their inhibitor chips, and they were understandably bewildered when their brother clones started executing Jedi. They helped Caleb escape, and – as told in tie-in comics – a young Caleb was taken in by the smuggler Janus Kasmir, who advised him to abandon all connections to the Jedi. Caleb took up the name Kanan Jarrus and became a crucial figure in the Rebellion, one of the heroes of Star Wars: Rebels.

Jedi Master Luminara Unduli was revealed to have survived the initial execution in Star Wars Rebels. When the order was given, Luminara was on Kashyyyk alongside Yoda, and instead of being killed, she was captured and taken to the Spire on Stygeon Prime. She was executed by the Grand Inquisitor not long after, but the Empire kept her remains and spread rumors that she lived to lure surviving Jedi to them.

The Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister were members of the Imperial Inquisitors and secondary antagonists in Star Wars Rebels alongside the Grand Inquisitor. The Darth Vader comics revealed all inquisitors were fallen Jedi. Any Jedi who were not executed as part of the Great Jedi Purge after Order 66 were turned to the dark side and tasked with hunting down surviving Jedi, Force-sensitive children, and political dissidents. Both the Fifth Brother and Seventh sister were unnamed former Jedi who survived Order 66 and were forced into the Inquisitorius program.

Jedi: Fallen Order introduced other members of the Inquisitorius; Trilla Suduri and the Ninth Sister. Trilla was the former Padawan of Cere Junda; surviving Order 66, the two went into hiding with a group of Younglings they were protecting. Unfortunately, both were captured and subjected to torture. Cere managed to escape, but Trilla’s torture turned her into the sadistic Second Sister. Cal Kestis ended up killing the Ninth Sister at the beginning of Jedi: Survivor and Trilla was struck down by Darth Vader at the end of Jedi: Fallen Order for her failure to comply with her Inquisitor duties.

Overflowing with rage and regret, Cere tapped into the dark side and killed almost everyone in the room before making her escape. Cere cut herself off from the Force shortly after but returned to her Jedi roots in Jedi: Survivor in order to help the Hidden Path relocate those displaced by the Empire. Like her Padawan, she ultimately died at the hands of Darth Vader in Jedi: Survivor.

Cal Kestis, the hero of Fallen Order and Survivor was a child at the end of the Clone Wars and the Padawan of Jaro Tapal, the only known member of the Lasat species to be trained as a Jedi. Like Yoda, Tapal felt the fall of his Jedi brethren during Order 66 and managed to protect Cal long enough for him to escape to the planet Bracca. Tapal was fatally wounded and died in his padawan’s arms. Cal has carried his perished master’s lightsaber ever since. Later, he helped what remained of the Hidden Path reach the secret planet of Tanalorr.

Taron Malicos was a trusted Jedi General during the Clone Wars who was first introduced in Fallen Order. After he struck down his clone troopers, Malicos crash-landed on Dathomir, home of the Dathomir witches known as Nightsisters. When he met Merrin, the last surviving Nightsister, he told her the Jedi were responsible for the genocide of her sisters and promised her revenge if she taught him Nightsister magick. When Cal Kestis came to Dathomir and learned of Malicos’ deceit, the two dueled until Merrin used her Nightsister magick to entomb Malicos in the ground.

Introduced in Fallen Order, Jedi Master Eno Cordova was Cere Junda’s Master when she was a Padawan. As a scholar, Cordova dedicated himself to studying the ancient Zeffo civilization. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it was revealed his studies led him away from the Council and off their radar, meaning he managed to escape Order 66 by being away from the action. He then reunited with his old Padawan to help the Hidden Path relocate other survivors suffering from the Empire’s persecution. Unfortunately, Cordova was cut down by his friend, Bode Akuna, who was a double agent for the Empire.

Not only was Bode an expert liar and actor, but he also possessed Force concealment; an ability that allowed him to not be sensed by other Force-sensitives. With these skills, Bode managed to disappear from the Empire during Order 66.

Bode feigned friendship with Cal Kestis and the crew of the Mantis to secure a path to Tanalorr. After Cal dedicated Tanalorr to the Hidden Path, Bode ultimately betrayed his friends.

Jocasta Nu was the librarian of the Jedi Archives in the Temple on Coruscant. It hasn’t been revealed how exactly Jocasta survived the initial execution, but in the Darth Vader comics, Sidious wanted Jocasta to be brought to him alive since her wealth of knowledge would have been valuable to the Empire. When Jocasta returned to the Jedi Temple for more Holocrons with plans to start a school and restore the Jedi Order, she crossed paths with the Grand Inquisitor – and was later killed by Darth Vader after she exposed his true identity.

His travels eventually took him to Tatooine, pursued by the Inquisitors, and he unwittingly put both Obi-Wan and the young Luke Skywalker at risk. Obi-Wan tried to persuade Nari to abandon being a Jedi, but his intervention came too late, and Nari was killed by the Inquisitors.

Oppo Rancisis, Coleman Kcaj, Ka-Moon Kholi, and Selrahc Eluos were all names on a list of known survivors compiled by the Inquisitorius, as shown in the Darth Vader comics. Oppo Rancisis was a Jedi Master who had served on the Council for centuries, and Coleman Kcaj was a Jedi Master who served on the Council at the end of the Clone Wars and was present for Ashoka Tano’s trial in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Not much is known about the other two, nor are the exact details of how they survived revealed in the Star Wars canon.

Palpatine chose many of his potential Inquisitors during the Clone Wars, and the story of Iskat Akaris’ fall to the dark side is told in Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson. She and her fellow Jedi Knight Tualon Yaluna were spared by the clones, and they joined the Inquisitors. They became lovers, and their affection for one another drew Darth Vader’s ire, leading to their deaths.
