Tekken 8 gameplay

As described by director Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken 8’s gameplay emphasizes aggression, favoring proactive players over defensive players. A new system called “Heat” has been introduced, providing fragmentation damage, additional actions, and altered attributes for certain character actions, including heavy guard breaches. Thermal state can be activated, allowing the warrior to sprint and cancel the move into this state.

While defending against onslaught, the warrior also faces fragmentation damage, causing health to regenerate that can only be restored by attacking the opponent. The Rage system returns with changes that separate Rage Drive into “Thermal Crush,” a super move within the Thermal System.

“Tekken 8” also enhances level dangers and introduces various challenges. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 to provide a cinematic combat experience with new character models and voice lines. Online modes include an “Arcade Quest” battle lobby for arcade, online and tournament play, allowing for avatar customization using “Fight Money.”
