What happened to Rob Donovan in Coronation Street?
Rob Donovan, played by Mark Bayliss, is a character in Coronation Street known for his confusing storylines. Rob initially comes to help his sister Kara, but his seemingly reformed ways take a dark turn. He was involved in shady business dealings with Tracy Barlow that resulted in the murder of Tina McIntyre. Rob and Tracey’s engagement party exposed Tina’s affair with Carla’s husband Peter Barlow. In a rage, Rob pushed Tina off the balcony and then beat her to death. The blame was initially placed on Peter, but Kara discovered the truth on the eve of their wedding. Rob escapes, leading to a dramatic arrest.
Rob returned briefly in 2015 to reveal a family secret to Johnny Connor. Later, during an investigation, he escaped from prison, only to be recaptured. When he faced serious charges, his fate seemed sealed. However, with the addition of his son Bobby, speculation has begun that Rob could return, but Coronation Street has yet to confirm anything.
Who plays Rob Donovan in Coronation Street?
Marc Baylis played the role of Rob Donovan in the British television soap opera Coronation Street from 2012 to 2017. Bayliss debuted on July 9, 2012, as the younger brother of Carla Connor, played by Alison King. Two years later, Bayliss made his debut. He initially resigned from the role in November 2014 following the story of Rob’s alleged murder of Tina McIntyre.
However, Bayless returned to the character in December 2015 for a brief storyline, and left again in January 2016. The actor returned again on April 19, 2017, and left for the final time on May 8, 2017. Bayliss deftly portrays the storyline of his time in Coronation Street, deftly portraying the complexity of the character.

Coronation Street introduces a new character named Bobby Donovan, the son of Rob Donovan, who is currently serving time in prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre. Bobby’s arrival comes just after Cara Barlow said goodbye to her long-time love Peter. Carla’s brother, Rob, didn’t know he had a son until recently, and he didn’t tell Carla about the development.
Bobby, played by Jack Carroll, is a lively character with a quick wit and a keen eye for the ladies, reminiscent of his father, Rob. After a falling out with his mother, he came to Weatherfield and was looking for a place to live. Despite Bobby’s sudden appearance, it’s clear he plans to stick around and keep things interesting with Aunt Carla.
Best known for being runner-up on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, Jack Carroll burst onto the scene on Coronation Street, bringing humor and energy to the cobbled streets. The storyline hints at potential complexities and comedic moments as Bobby becomes integrated into the lives of the Coronation Street characters, especially Kara.
