Where to Find Tier 2 Iron Ores in Pax Dei

If you notice that some resources have a diamond-like icon on their tooltips, that icon corresponds to the tier of the resource in Pax Dei. Once you find some tier 2 resources, you’ll start piecing it together. An obvious resource is the Iron Ore resource, because if you found some impure Iron Ore, there’s undoubtedly something better, right? This is where you’ll find those tier 2 Iron Ores and the other things it unlocks in Pax Dei.

How to get level 2 iron ore in Pax Dei

Once you visit the nearest mountain area to your starting location, you may see deposits of minerals like gneiss, granite, and impure iron ore. However, if you move closer to the center of the map (across the red line), the mountain areas at that location will produce deposits of different types.

The most common deposits are Tin and Copper, but Iron deposits can be found occasionally. These Iron deposits appear much darker than the other deposits, and you will need to upgrade your Pickaxe to Iron in order to mine them.

It takes more than 15 swings with the Iron Pickaxe to fully mine an Iron Ore Deposit, and they usually appear in groups of two or three. If you go to this area, you should increase your Stamina to make mining more efficient, especially if you plan on mining Copper and Tin Ores.

Once you get level 2 iron ore, you will unlock the wrought iron ingot recipe from the furnace. At this point, I recommend creating multiple furnaces because these resources take too long to craft and you need to constantly craft all types of ingots to progress in the game.

A forged iron ingot requires 40 level 2 iron ore and 100 charcoal to craft, and takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete. Once you craft an iron ingot, you will unlock new recipes and weapons, such as the forged iron sledgehammer.
