Harry Cherrington Brook is an outstanding English cricketer who represents England and Yorkshire in domestic cricket. He is known for his skills as a right-handed batsman, while also being a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Brook made his international debut for England in January 2022.

Brooke had an amazing start to his Test career, scoring an impressive 809 runs in his first six Test matches while batting ten times. His career average is 80.90 with a strike rate of nearly 100. Notably, he was also a key member of England’s triumphant team in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Who is Harry Brooke?
Harry Brook was born on 22 February 1999 in Keighley and grew up in Burley, Wharvesdale, in a family with a strong affinity for club cricket. He initially attended Ilkley Grammar School in West Yorkshire, but at the age of 14 he won a scholarship to the prestigious Sedbergh School in Cumbria. According to Alex Mason, a journalist for Cricket Magazine, renowned cricket coach and former professional player Martin Speight played a key role in Brook’s career during his time at Sedbergh.
Brooke is also well known for her charitable contributions, such as raising funds for the British Heart Foundation by recording a video message in support of Team Hope.

Harry Brook’s national and international career
Harry Brook is a newcomer in English cricket who began his domestic career with Yorkshire, making his debut against Pakistan A on 26 June 2016. He showed his prowess with three centuries for Yorkshire’s second XI, before making his County Championship debut on 19 June 2017. Brook made his T20 debut in the 2018 T20 Blast and was later signed by the Northern Super Chargers to join The Hundred. In 2022, he gained international acclaim while playing for the Lahore Qalandars, scoring 102 off 49 balls in the PSL, becoming the youngest hundred scorer in the league’s history.
Internationally, Brooke captained the England U-19 team and performed well at the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup, scoring a hundred against Bangladesh. He made his T20I debut for England on 26 January 2022 and his Test debut on 8 September 2022. Notably, Brooke became the fastest player to reach 800 Test runs, achieving the milestone in just 9 innings. His outstanding performances included a career-high score of 186 against New Zealand. In 2024, he was selected for England’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, cementing his status as a key player for the national team.
