How does Zelda’s Kingdom Tears get its first memories?

To get Memory 1 in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to start the key quest called “Retrieve the Hero’s Sword”, which involves obtaining the Master Sword. While the game doesn’t offer clear clues, players familiar with Breath of the Wild can head to Korok Forest as a starting point. To reach Korok Forest, you must cross the chasm located near the entrance to the Lost Forest.

When you find the small crevice near the entrance to the Lost Forest, go through it to reach the Abyss. As you progress along the path, be prepared to face enemies and shadowy presences lurking underground. Keep an eye out for Gloom Spawns near your destination, and if you’re confident in your abilities, join the fight. It’s worth noting that defeating the Darkspawn will trigger a confrontation with the Phantom Cannon version.

If you want to skip this fight, head straight to the underground structure aligned with the surface Korok Forest. Use your boosting powers to reach Korok Forest. As you enter, you’ll find that the forest has been swallowed up by darkness. Enter the Great Deku Tree, where you’ll find another crack that leads to a lower area.

In this lower area, you’ll encounter another Gloom Spawn, followed by another Phantom Cannon. Defeating Phantom Cannon will be the final step in unlocking Memory 1 of Kingdom Tears. Dodge his attacks and keep a safe distance as he will spread gloom across the floor. Use your flurry of dash abilities to perform perfect dodges and deal significant damage. Just keep at it and you’ll beat him eventually. After victory, return to the surface and talk to the Great Deku Tree.

After talking to Deku Daiki, he will ask if you are missing the Master Sword. This interaction will trigger Memory 1, and Zelda and Link arrive at Korok Forest again to retrieve the Master Sword. The Great Deku Tree will then mark the location of the Master Sword on your map, indicating that it can be found on the Light Dragon.

Tears of the Kingdom game features

Kingdom Tears is the highly anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017), introducing a host of exciting features to enhance the gaming experience.

The game is based on the beloved open world of Hyrule, expanding the possibilities for exploration by introducing verticality into the environment. Players once again assume the role of Link, who embarks on an important mission to assist Princess Zelda in thwarting Ganondorf’s plan to destroy Hyrule.

To further enhance the game’s mechanics, Kingdom Tears introduces vehicle and machine crafting options, allowing players to craft and utilize specialized vehicles to navigate Hyrule’s vast landscapes.
