Ariana Greenblatt’s 10 Best Movies And TV Shows

Ariana Greenblatt

’s best movies and TV shows demonstrate that she has a long and promising career ahead of her. Greenblatt grew up in a family that boasts other actors and Broadway producers, so some might say that show business is simply in her blood. She has been acting professionally since she was just eight years old, and in that time, she has appeared in multiple movies that have made more than $1 billion at the box office. She has also appeared in some major franchises.

Though many of her early roles have involved Greenblatt playing the younger version of existing characters, she has managed to make each and every one of those performances stand out, making her a worthy successor for any of the actors whose mantle she picks up. Greenblatt has also done a great job at playing original characters in heavy action movies as well as family comedies. She is versatile and extremely talented. With only a decade in the industry, it’s clear her talent is only going to grow.

…the performances are so good in spite of the slow-moving storyline…

65 follows two survivors of a spaceship crashing on Earth. The two are members of an alien race that were on a two-year expedition, but everyone else on board is killed when their spacecraft encounters debris from a meteor heading toward the planet. The survivors have to find their way to an escape pod while battling dinosaurs and other earthly dangers on the way.

65 is a science fiction movie that was largely lampooned by critics. With pacing that was just too slow for a survivalist tale that pitted two beings against dinosaurs, most people saw the movie as a waste of the talents of the two people (Adam Driver and Greenblatt) present in it. Despite that, it lands among Greenblatt’s best movies because the performances are so good in spite of the slow-moving storyline and a tale that ultimately does not feel like it has enough stakes for the audience.

Much of Greenblatt’s performance in the movie is nonverbal because the two main characters speak different languages. She has to get so much of her feelings across with more physical acting, and she does an excellent job.

Not all of Ariana Greenblatt’s projects have been of the fictional variety. She also competed in Dancing With The Stars: Juniors. The series puts famous kids in the Dancing With The Stars ballroom instead of adults. While the concept is an interesting one, the show only lasted for one season.

Greenblatt was a good choice for the series though. While she had not had a ton of huge roles at the time, she was a recognizable talent for the audience who would be tuning in. With plenty of roles where she played the younger version of known characters and plenty of spots on family networks like the Disney Channel, Greenblatt already had a decent fanbase when she competed.

Greenblatt proved to be a fun talent to watch in the series. She consistently performed well on the show and tied with two other contestants as the runner-up for the season.

The movie also marks Greenblatt’s singing debut.

The Boss Baby: Family Business is the sequel to the original movie, and like the first, it is inspired by a series of children’s books. This time around, the kids from the original movie are all grown up, but they get the chance to be turned back into children to investigate a potential threat to parents everywhere. Greenblatt voices the seven-year-old daughter of one of the characters from the original movie.

Though most of the attention will be paid to the deadpan humor of the likes of Alex Baldwin or Amy Sedaris, Greenblatt holds her own in the voice over work. She shows that she could be well on her way to voicing many more animated characters as she has a knack for getting her emotions through with just her voice.

The movie also marks Greenblatt’s singing debut. Though she made sure to assert in an interview with Hey Alexandra that she is “so not a singer,” she did have to audition with a song for the role, and she was terrified. She credits the movie with helping her face that particular fear.

Greenblatt also reprises her role as Tabitha in the spin-off series.

Scoob received mixed reviews from critics when it was released. Some felt that it strayed too far from a Scooby-doo story because there were other Hanna-Barbera characters that pulled the attention of the audience.

The story offers a look at the Mystery Inc team when they are kids and when they are adults. Their story takes them on a journey to meet superheroes, primitive civilizations, and even learn some of Scooby’s family history.

While the bulk of the movie sees adult actors voicing the main cast of Mystery Inc, there are younger performers who give voice to the characters as children. Gina Rodriguez provides the voice of Velma as an adult and Greenblatt takes over for her as a child. While they might not have the exact same performance style in live-action, they are well-suited to voice different ages of the same character in animation. Greenblatt is a good fit for the smartest member of the team and one who is always willing to offer up an explanation.

There was a planned prequel for the movie with Greenblatt and the rest of the younger cast members, but it was canceled.

For fans of Jenna Ortega who believe that she and Ariana Greenblatt bear a striking resemblance to one another and should play relatives – they already have. Greenblatt played Ortega’s little sister for three seasons of this Disney Channel original series.

The series focuses on Ortega’s Harley, the fourth of seven children. Harley’s story is meant to explain how she gets by in a family that is so busy and often chaotic. The show provided Ortega’s big break, but it also is Greenblatt’s, who had only appeared in one episode of Liv and Maddie before landing the series regular part on Stuck in the Middle.

Greenblatt’s Daphne is definitely the stereotypical little sister in a family show. She is cute, loves to play with dolls, and even sleeps in a dollhouse on occasion, but she should never be crossed. Greenblatt was adorable in the role, and it clearly opened a lot of doors for her, as it was right after her time on the series ended that she started snapping up a lot of her roles in much bigger projects.

A photo of Zac Efron's The Iron Claw character and Zendaya's Challengers character are edited onto some Disney Channel imagery.

Inspired by the true story of a gorilla in captivity, The One And Only Ivan focuses on a gorilla named Ivan who is one of the central attractions at a small Florida circus inside a mall. Over the course of the movie, he deals with his own jealousy of a new animal drawing in a crowd, losing one of his friends, and longing for the home he was taken from. He also communicates with the daughter of the man who takes care of the animals for the circus owner. It is Julia who encourages him to draw and paint.

Initially, Greenblatt’s character feels like just another child playing with animals in a family-friendly movie. Greenblatt, however, plays the part with a lot of empathy as she tries to connect with the gorilla and encourages him to express himself through art. It is Greenblatt’s Julia who realizes that Ivan longs to be free of the circus and encourages visitors to protest his being held.

While the movie might be very predictable for some, the performances, including Greenblatt’s, are done with a lot of heart, allowing the audience to emotionally connect with the characters.

Avengers: Infinity War is the first part of an epic two-part story in which the main Avengers team and many of their allies find themselves facing off against Thanos and his allies. While most of the movie is devoted to those conflicts and trying to keep Vision and the Infinity Stone in his head safe from Thanos, there are also flashbacks that show the audience more of Thanos’ past.

One of those flashbacks reveals when Thanos visited Gamora’s home planet. Gamora was just a child, played in this case by Greenblatt. Though Thanos is implied to have used his army to wipe out everyone on her planet, he took an interest in her, and took her with him, making her his daughter. Greenblatt conveys Gamora’s fear and determination with essentially no dialogue.

She also appears as Gamora after Thanos sacrifices his daughter to gain the Soul Stone. There, she is equal parts heartbroken and wise. Greenblatt’s turn as Gamora is enough to make plenty of Marvel fans interested in a series about the character’s time as a youngster training under Thanos and competing against Nebula.

Just as Greenblatt portrayed the younger version of a high-profile Marvel character, she also took on the role of the younger version of a high-profile Star Wars character. Ahsoka was introduced in the animation arm of the Star Wars franchise. Rosario Dawson got to play the Jedi in live-action before headlining her own Disney+ series.

An episode of the series sees the adult Ahsoka flashback to her youth. While doing so, she fights alongside Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christiansen), who trained her in the ways of the Jedi. The sequence in the past saw Greenblatt get the opportunity to bring the character to life and fans of the series were astounded by her performance.

Uproxx compiled dozens of social media reactions to the episode, with fans calling for Greenblatt to be cast in her own series alongside Hayden Christiansen, wanting to revisit the era in which he played Anakin. The chemistry of Greenblatt and Christiansen was praised as well as her skills fitting into the epic world of Star Wars.

Dave Filoni, one of the creators of Ahsoka, was even impressed with her resemblance to Ahsoka when the cameras were not rolling. Filoni explained that Greenblatt was able to captivate those on set with storytelling abilities, just as Ahsoka was able to command soldiers.

…Greenblatt proves that she is not just talented at pulling from other people’s performances, but she can make characters her own.

Because so much of Greenblatt’s early career is built on her picking up the mantle of iconic characters to play younger versions of them, seeing her play an original character in something like Love and Monsters was actually a rarity for a while. In Love and Monsters, Greenblatt proves that she is not just talented at pulling from other people’s performances, but she can make characters her own.

Love And Monsters follows a young man named Joel (Dylan O’Brien) who has lived in an underground bunker after an event has turned normal animals and insects into giant monsters. Tired of living in a bunker and only able to communicate with the girl he loved in high school via radio, he sets out to get to her bunker despite the immense danger and not having the best survival skills.

Minnow is one of the people that he meets along the way. She has been raised by a man who has taught her how to survive in a harsh environment and fight the monsters herself. Armed with a bow, an attitude, and some heavy eye-rolling, Greenblatt is fantastic in the part. The audience completely understands how this child could survive in a world populated by deadly giant insects from the moment she opens her mouth.

Both The One And Only Ivan and Love And Monsters were nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects but lost out to Tenet.

If Love and Monsters is Ariana Greenblatt’s best movie as a younger performer, Barbie is her best movie as a teenager (so far). The actor has essentially grown up on camera, and her last few roles have offered her the chance to play closer to her real age instead of playing younger.

Barbie follows the journey of a stereotypical Barbie as she learns that she is changing in Barbieland because someone in the outside world has been playing with her toy counterpart. Sasha is initially the teenager Barbie believes she belongs to, but it turns out to be Sasha’s mother.

Barbie was nominated for eight Oscars, winning one, and nine Golden Globes, winning two.

While this movie truly belongs to the performances of Robbie and America Ferrera, Greenblatt is who helps to sell Ferrera’s role as a mother bogged down by stress and the role of women at her job and in the world as a whole. One of Greenblatt’s best moments in the movie is a complete take down of everything Barbie believes when they first meet, as she points out all of the image issues and problems associated with Barbies that critics have had for years.

Greenblatt is pitch-perfect in the role as a young woman who has seen how the world treats women like her own mother. Her pride as her mother gives a voice to what women feel on a daily basis is palpable, and there really could not have been a better mother-daughter duo for the movie. Barbie is the best project of Ariana Greenblatt’s career so far, though there are sure to be many even better.
