Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025: Elections to 70 seats in Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5. At the same time, the results will also be announced on February 8. This time, the Australian Action Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress have all fielded big names as candidates for different seats.

Delhi elections 2025: The electoral battle is fiercely contested

This parliamentary election is crucial. On one hand, AAP will strive to maintain its presence in Delhi. Instead, the Congress and the BJP will try to regain lost ground. Therefore, all three important parties consider this election to be crucial.

New Delhi constituency

AAP party convener and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting from the New Delhi seat. The BJP fielded Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma against him and the Congress fielded Sandeep Dixit. Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma and Sandeep Dixit is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit . All three are considered strong contenders to become the next chief minister of Delhi.

Jampura constituency

The political battle of former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia will also be closely watched. He was the target of numerous accusations, which forced him to resign his post and serve time in prison. This time he is contesting from Jangpura constituency. He is opposed by Tavinder Singh Marwa of the BJP and Farhad Suri of the Congress.

Biwasan constituency

In this election, all eyes will be on Bijwasan seat. Kailash Gehlot had previously served as a minister in the Delhi government of the AAP party. However, before the elections, he changed his political stance and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Bharatiya Janata Party sent him to Bijwasan. His opponents are Surendra Bhardwaj from AAP and Devendra Sehrawat from Congress.

Papaganj constituency

Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was the MLA who held the seat earlier. Awadh Ojha is a well-known name in the coaching industry and has held prestigious positions such as IAS/IPS. His comments on social media are still being discussed. Before the elections, he joined forces with the Aam Aadmi Party. He has been replaced from Patparganj seat by AAP. His rivals are Ravindra Singh Negi of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Chaudhary Anil Kumar of the Congress.

Kalkaji constituency

All eyes will be on Kalkaji seat in Delhi. Because the current chief minister of Delhi, Atish, is running for this seat on behalf of AAP. Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri also opposed her.
