Traditions and celebrations
Nowruz’s preparations began a few weeks ago with Khaneh Tekani or “House Cleaning” to purify the house and soul of the New Year. The family also bought new clothing and established Haft-the Table, a core tradition composed of seven symbolic objects starting with the Persian letter “S”. They are reborn sprouts, wheat puddings of strength, olives of love, berries of sunrise, vinegar for patience, aesthetic apples and healthy garlic.
