How to Complete The When Words Won’t Do Side Quest?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a video game released by Square Enix in 2024. It is the sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the second part of a planned trilogy to remake the 1997 game Final Fantasy 7.

In the game, players control mercenary Claude Strife and his team AVALANCHE. Their mission is to stop the super-corporation Shinra from using the planet’s life essence (called the Lifestream) as an energy source. They also want to defeat the former elite soldier Sephiroth, who wants to gain more power by uniting with the planet.

The story continues from the previous game, with Zack Fair bringing the unconscious Cloud to Midgar. In Zack’s timeline, the planet’s energy, Mako, has been exhausted and the world is about to end. At the same time, Cloud’s friends are captured by Shinra, and Aerith is saved by sacrificing Red XIII. Zack hides with Cloud and Aerith, and faces the challenge of who to save.

In the original timeline, Cloud reveals his past with Sephiroth. They come to Nibelheim to investigate the Mako Reactor, but Sephiroth discovers that he is an artificial creature made from Jenova’s cells, leading to chaos. Cloud doesn’t remember what happened next, confusing his friends.

The group traveled to various places, met new allies, and learned about the planet’s guardian, the Weapon. They also encountered the Whisperers, who were trying to maintain Destiny. Sephiroth’s plan was to use the Black Magic Stone to summon a meteor and create a paradise under his rule.

During their journey, they face challenges from Shinra, conflicts with Wutai, and manipulation by Sephiroth. The game blends action, strategy, and role-playing elements to provide players with an immersive experience.

How do I complete the “When Words Fail” side quest?

In Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, there is a side quest called “When Words Fail”. To start this quest, go to Under Junon and check the community notice board. You need to escort a dog named Salmon to a secret settlement and give money to the quest giver’s son.

This quest will unlock a new area in the Junon region that has important points of interest. Completing this quest is essential to completing all of Chadley’s World Intelligence objectives. After accepting the quest, talk to Rhonda outside the inn and agree to escort her dog.

Follow Salmon to the Crow’s Nest area, defeating enemies along the way. The Sandstorm Dragon is weak to wind attacks, making it easier to defeat. Once you reach the Crow’s Nest, some dialogue will occur and the quest will be complete. You will unlock the Crow’s Nest, gain Party XP, 500 XP, and improve your relationship with Barret as a reward.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in a series of remakes of the 1997 PlayStation original Final Fantasy VII. The game’s plot follows the characters’ escape from Midgar, where they left off in Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020).

The player controls Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who joins the eco-terrorist group Avalanche to fight the Shinra corporation that is draining the life energy of the Earth. They also face Sephiroth, a legendary soldier who was thought to be dead but was resurrected.

Similar to previous remakes, Rebirth reimagines parts of the original game while adding more depth to character development and the overall story. The gameplay involves real-time exploration and combat, and the game features a more open world compared to the linear progression of the remake of Midgar. Objective markers help players complete the main story quests and side quests. They can also ride a chocobo using special chocobo bait materials to travel faster.

Combat combines action-centric melee attacks with an Active Time Battle (ATB) system. Players control a team of characters and can switch between them freely during combat. Characters use physical attacks, magic, and items to defeat enemies. The “synergy” mechanic introduced in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade DLC allows party members to synchronize their attacks, but slows down the rate at which the ATB bar fills.
