Fix for “Inappropriate Activity Detected” error in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
For most users, this error appears when they try to summon another user. This can be very frustrating, especially when you don’t have any mods installed. It also affects Steam Deck users, and the developers are aware of this. This is a bug with Easy Anti-Cheat, and we hope that the developers will be able to resolve it in a patch.

Steam will scan the files and download any missing or corrupted content.
Temporarily disable mods
If you are using any mods while playing the expansion pack, we recommend that you temporarily disable them. If a mod is causing this error, disabling it should resolve the issue.
Update the game
Make sure you are using the latest version of the game. This error is related to Easy Anti-Cheat and an upcoming update should resolve this issue. To ensure Elden Ring is always updated in Steam, follow the steps below.
- Open Steam, and navigate to your library
- Here, right-click on “Elden Ring” and select “Properties”
- In the Updates section, select High Priority under Automatic Updates
This will ensure that Elden Ring gets updated first.
Due to this EAC-related bug, the extension also doesn’t work properly on Steam Deck/Linux. Valve is tracking this issue, and the official Elden Ring account has confirmed that they are also working on a fix.
