Last Epoch Will There be a Wipe? Last Epoch Future Plans

Will destruction happen in the last era?

Currently, save files created during Early Access are marked as “offline only”. This means that players will be able to retain and continue to use their Early Access characters. However, it is important to note that once Last Epoch is fully released, these “offline only” characters will no longer be trusted for online multiplayer.

While the specifics of what players will be able to do with their Early Access characters in online multiplayer once the full version is released have yet to be clarified, the guarantee that saves won’t be wiped provides peace of mind for players who invested time and effort into their characters during the Early Access phase.

Future plans for the last era

Future plans for Last Epoch reveal exciting developments for Early Access players. The developers hinted at a potential “legacy” format that would allow players to play custom battles with their “legacy” characters. This opens up new possibilities for a personalized gaming experience.

Additionally, Last Epoch will implement “cycles,” similar to seasons in other games. Starting with version 1.0, all characters will be stored server-side to prevent players from editing save files and exploiting or abusing vulnerabilities. This server-side approach ensures a fair and safe game for all participants.

At the end of each “cycle” or season, the current seasonal character will transition to the Legacy class along with the other Early Access characters. This structured system is designed to maintain a balanced and enjoyable gaming environment, providing a smooth transition for players. Players are eager to see how these planned features will shape the gaming landscape once they are officially released.

Previous Era

Last Epoch is an action-RPG, hack-and-slash game currently in Early Access. The game was developed by Eleventh Hour Games (EHG). The game first gained attention in April 2018 when Last Epoch released a free playable demo during its Kickstarter campaign that showcased some of the game’s features.

Next, Last Epoch entered beta and was made available to players via Steam Early Access in April 2019. However, the full release, originally scheduled for April 2020, was rescheduled to Q4 2020, extending the development timeline.

During the game’s development, several changes and challenges arose. In October 2020, the developer decided to cancel the Mac client for Last Epoch, citing the difficulties that Apple’s switch to ARM-based processors might cause. In December 2020, Eleventh Hour Games announced another delay, pushing the game’s release to 2021.

In March 2023, Last Epoch took a major step forward with the launch of a multiplayer beta, introducing a cooperative gaming experience. Finally, in October 2023, the developer revealed that the full game would be officially released on February 21, 2024, providing a long-awaited release date for players looking forward to the full Last Epoch experience.

How to play the game of Last Era

Last Epoch is an action-RPG that takes players on a thrilling journey through time. In the game, players explore the past world of Eterra and encounter challenges such as dark empires, vengeful gods, and unexplored lands. Their mission is to stop the void from devouring time itself.

Players choose one of five powerful classes to begin their adventure. As they progress, they have the opportunity to advance to unique master classes, unlocking specialized abilities and build options tailored to their preferred play style. One of the game’s standout features is its extensive skill system, with over 120 skill trees. Each skill has its own enhancement tree, allowing players to customize and enhance their abilities.

For example, players can transform skeletons into archers, turn lightning attacks into chain lightning, or summon snakes to assist in combat using their snake attack skills. Combining time travel, dungeon crawling, character customization, and endless replayability, Last Epoch offers an immersive experience for both veteran and newcomers to action RPGs.
