Should You Kill Aelis Siryasius in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)? – Answered

When you start exploring the sewers beneath the city in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll eventually come across Aelis Siryasius. So, should you kill Aelis Siryasius in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Should you kill Aelis Siryasius in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Yes, you should kill Aelis Siryasius when you have the chance. However, we don’t attack through dialogue. When you meet Aelis in the Lower City Sewers in Baldur’s Gate 3, he will think you are a member of the Absolute. As long as you can convince him that you are not, he will tolerate you for a short time.

After passing this check, we recommend planning his death and attacking him or his element as often as possible. Once you kill Aelis Siryasius, you will have unhindered access to the sealed treasure in his lair and the Skeleton of Sarin.

The reason you should take him out is that he will be hostile to you if you return to his lair anyway. Passing Aelis’s Persuasion check will only get you through safely once. After that, he won’t want to see you back again. You should take advantage of this opportunity to clear the area.

Aside from the treasure in the lair, the danger is gone, and you can solve the Sarin’s skeleton puzzle without any problems. You’ll need to leave the Lower City Sewers and enter the Undercity Ruins to find the answer, though.

What would happen if Aelis Siryasius was allowed to live?

If you don’t kill Aelis Siryasius when you encounter him, you’ll have more difficulty in this area. First, you’ll be attacked by enemies while you try to solve Sarin’s skeleton puzzle. Additionally, he’ll become hostile no matter how you get back to his lair. If you decide to leave him alive, you’ll also be locked in his lair without access to some loot.
