Finals gameplay

In the finals, you will be paired with other people in teams of three. You have tasks to do, such as opening special vaults and taking things to cash withdrawal locations. Target? When other players are out, grab coins from them and collect as much money as possible.

If you end up with the most cash, your team wins. Each player chooses a character – some are fast, some are tough, and some are somewhere in between. They each have their own weapons and moves, but you can mix them up too. The whole point of the game is to take advantage of what’s around you, like exploding things or even making things hide behind.

When someone gets knocked down, their friends can bring them back, but there’s a limit to how many times you can do that. This is a really cool game where you disrupt the environment and work with your team to strategize to win.

final development

Stockholm-based Embark Studios released their first games, The Finals and Arc Raiders. They’re all designed to get players to break things in the game. One team member mentioned that they were surprised by the creative ways players took advantage of freedom in the game, such as blowing up a wall instead of just opening a door. To ensure the game runs smoothly, all the calculations that break things happen server-side, freeing your computer from doing all the hard work.

The game was first announced for PC in August 2022. Later, they said the game would also run on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S. Before the official release, they ran some tests (closed beta) in which only a few people could play. The first internal test will be in March 2023, and the second will be in June of that year. They then opened up a trial period to more players in October.

Finally, “The Finals” will be released on December 7, 2023 during the Game Awards Ceremony. But when it launched, the servers didn’t perform well, so they had to limit how many people could play at the same time.
