What is EPI?

EPI is the Environmental Performance Index, an index developed by Yale University and Columbia University in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to measure the cleanliness and environmental friendliness of 180 countries around the world.

The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) measures 40 parameters across 11 categories such as climate change mitigation, air quality, sanitation and drinking water, heavy metals, solid waste, water resources, agriculture, fisheries, air pollution, forests, and biodiversity and habitat.
