What Are the Path of Exile 2 Classes? – Answered

One of the main reasons so many of us love the ARPG genre is the variety it brings with its many unique classes and play styles. It’s why I fell in love with Path of Exile, The Last Age, and Diablo IV, and why – like you – I can’t wait to play Path of Exile 2. But for now, what are the classes in Path of Exile 2?

All Path of Exile 2 classes confirmed

In total, Path of Exile 2 has 12 base classes, most of which focus on single or dual attribute combinations to help increase build diversity from the start. The currently confirmed classes include:

class Attributes Weapon Types
Predator strength axis
warrior strength Mace, Hammer
Ranger dexterity bow
Huntress dexterity Spears
witch intelligence Servant, Mystical Spells
witch intelligence Elemental spells, staves
Decision maker Strength/Agility sword
mercenary Strength/Agility Crossbow, Grenade
shadow Intelligence/Dexterity Dagger, Trap
monk Intelligence/Dexterity Barehanded, long stick
Knights Templar Strength/Intelligence Flail, shield
Druid Strength/Intelligence Transfiguration spells, staves

In addition to the twelve base classes in the game, each class has three Ascendant classes, for a total of 36 Ascendant classes. Unfortunately, we don’t know every Ascendant class in Path of Exile 2, with the exception of the Witch’s Elementalist. As we get closer to the next beta, we’ll likely see more information about this second set of classes!

Are Path of Exile 2 classes gender-locked?

Like the first Path of Exile, classes in the sequel will remain gender-locked. So if you want to play as a witch, you’ll have to play as a female character. For many, this won’t be a problem. After all, it’s about size, strength, and play style, not gender pixelated on a screen. Unfortunately, others will find fault with the system.

Do you know which class you’ll play first in Path of Exile 2? Me? I’m leaning towards either a mercenary or a witch!
