What role does the Ather Compass play in FFXIV: Dawntrail?
The Aether Compass is used to locate Aether Streams, which unlock flying in different areas. To use it, simply click on it after adding it to your hotbar. After using it, you will see a message on the screen that will give you the general direction of the nearest Aether Stream on the map.
Once you have found all of the Ether Streams on the map, the compass will give you a message saying that it has not found any.
